Cliffside Pagoda Temple

High above a mist-filled valley, a temple of carved timber and tiled roofs clings to a rocky outcrop, reachable only by a slender arched footbridge. Generations of masters climbed that bridge to train in silence, and every beam, lantern and shrine in the complex was raised to honour them. It is the kind of place that rewards a slow, deliberate build.

The temple is designed to open up rather than simply sit closed. The main pagoda rises through three tiled storeys and separates so you can reach the furnished rooms inside, while a rotating shrine platform, a turning water wheel fed by the mountain stream, a lantern-lit teahouse and a small courtyard of market stalls fill out the grounds below. The arched bridge spans the gap between the rock face and the outer terrace, and the entire complex is anchored on a sculpted stone outcrop that gives the finished model genuine presence on a shelf.
