Vintage Grocery Store Modular

Every neighborhood has one corner that anchors the whole block. Here it is a sand-green storefront with a striped awning, crates of fresh produce spilling onto the sidewalk, and two apartments stacked above where the residents hang their laundry and watch the street go by. It is the kind of building that makes a city layout feel lived in rather than merely built.

The build is designed to come apart as easily as it goes together. Each of the three floors lifts off so you can reach the interior: a fully stocked grocery store on the ground level with produce displays, a counter and a checkered floor; a furnished apartment above it; and a second apartment on the third story. A rooftop terrace crowns the model with a small grill, a table under an umbrella, chairs and planters, while a fire escape, mailboxes and dozens of individually framed windows finish the exterior. Standing 35.6 cm tall on a 25.4 cm square footprint, it locks side by side with other modular buildings so a single storefront can grow into an entire street.
