Colossal Battle Moon

Some builds are a weekend project. This one is a landmark. A vast armored sphere hangs in orbit, its gray plated surface split by a deep equatorial trench and crowned by an enormous focusing dish, a hollowed-out world turned into a fortress, sliced open to reveal the corridors, hangars and command decks buried inside its shell.

Behind the plated exterior the model opens into a multi-level interior: a cavernous hangar bay, a reactor shaft dropping through the core, control rooms lined with consoles, a detention corridor, a garbage compactor and a narrow bridge span across an open chasm. The sphere sits on a sturdy angled support so the exposed side faces the room, and at roughly 79 × 27 × 70 cm assembled it commands an entire shelf on its own. Every section is built as a self-contained bay, which keeps the 9,023-piece build absorbing from the first bag to the last panel.
